Silly Me!

Silly Me  .....

I know it's Christmas Eve as I'm tracking Santa on my laptop but I absolutely forgot it was Sunday and time for the challenge at:

Pixie's Snippets Playground Weeks 313 & 314

So here's a quick card made with the inside of an envelope, a piece of washi tape and some small snippets of card.

Made before I joined Parsnip for a tipple so it's not by mistake that the background is stuck on wonky and I did stamp the sentiment twice on purpose to give a shadow.

Looking at it now I wish I'd put on a pair of googly eyes though ....

Happy Christmas Eve!

Happy Christmas Everyone

I'd like to wish a Very Happy and Peaceful Christmas to all my lovely followers and blog buddies.

Thank you for your visits and kind comments throughout the year.  I really do appreciate  your friendship.

I would like to give a warm welcome to my two new followers
Mary Scott and Verna.

I hope you will be able to visit Verna's blog  see her lovely work.

Mary doesn't have a blog but we got to know each other some years ago through exchanging ATCs  and have corresponded ever since.

This is a photo taken from my sitting room window recently when the country was covered in snow.

Have a lovely Christmas everybody and here's hoping 2018 is a good year for us all.  Barb xxx

Secret Santa ....

Hello and Welcome!

For the last ten years there have just been the two of us and a bachelor friend for Christmas so you'd think there wasn't much to to ...... wrong!

I'm sure I'd mentioned several times to my hubby that I was out crafting all day on Friday and Saturday morning too.  He asked on Thursday evening if I'd make a card for his Secret Santa at Men in Sheds and it was needed for Monday - oh and also a box for a small coin!  - don't ask ......

So I spent Saturday afternoon making the card.  This is the front.  I used washi tape on kraft card for Santa's belt.  The buttons are very old from a jar I inherited from my dear MIL several years ago.  Sadly she's no longer with us.

This is the inside.

I used thick embossing powder for the snow background, heated from the back then die cut a pop up mechanism  for the Santa.

The gold glittery snowflake was saved from a bought Christmas card from last year and the berries on the sentiment are cosmic shimmer dots.

I added a small ribbon bow.

I made the small box this morning (Sunday) using scraps of kraft card.  This is the top of the box.

I coloured the card with Distress ink and had fun doing some stamping, stencilling  and stamping with various stamps.

The stencils are by Tim Holtz which I won from a blog buddy some time ago.

The word 'Found' was perfect as my hubby found the coin when he used to do metal detecting.

After making the card my hands were covered with ink and distress stain and I was very soon cleaned up with my new Ranger Scrubbie.  Check it out.  It works a treat.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Hello and thank you for your visit today.

Well I'm happy to say I have now sent off all my Christmas cards  (ll0 in total) and have just got a handful left to post in doors around the village.

It has taken me several hours each day for over a week to write them so now I'm keen to visit you all again and see what you've been making.

It's been a very busy few weeks with lots of stuff going on.  After a hearing test two weeks ago I will be getting hearing aids this year for Christmas - and I only wanted chocolate and a bottle of Baileys!!!

My card today was made several months ago when I was on a mission to use up scraps of white card.

The cherry and heart are also cut from pieces of white card and the ribbon is the tiniest piece from the end of the reel.

I'm popping over with my card to join in with Pixies Snippets Playground Weeks 309 & 310

Last Rudolph Day - 2017

Good Morning,  I hope you are all keeping warm.

I had an enforced duvet day yesterday as I woke up with an upset tum!   It was my birthday on Saturday so perhaps I may have over indulged.

I'm feeling fine today but decided to stay at home away from everyone - just in case.  I didn't want to pass anything nasty on.  So it's a good opportunity to catch up with visits as I've been overstretched for the past couple of weeks.

My card for Maureen's last Rudolph Day Challenge for the year  was made with a magazine freebie stamp and a die and paper bought from the Works recently.

The bow was cut out using a small card template and I used a peel off sentiment and some card candi.  I added a bit of sparkle  and gold gell pen to the image.

Optical Illusion!

First I want to assure you that everything on my card is embossed and to my hubby that is how it looks.  Not to me though.

For some reason, I don't know why it happens sometimes, but the photo on my phone was sideways and other than that it looked fine.  As soon as I transferred it to my laptop and rotated it - oops! it looked debossed.

I was unable to take another photo as it went off in my charity box last week.

I'd be interested to see how it appears to you.

The embossing folder came recently as a magazine freebie.  The zebra is by Lawn Fawn and was in a box of similar little wild animals which I recently stamped, coloured and diecut at our craft club one morning.

I recently found a youtube video describing how to make this type of fold.  The sizes were a bit complicated so because too much measuring does tend to confuse me I decided to try an easy version.

Here is a photo of the girl version.

For each card I used a sheet of white card.

First I cut a two inch strip off the bottom of the short side.

Next I cut the remaining card lengthways in half.  At this point I cut the smallest slither from the side of my strip to allow for the folds on the next stage.

I stuck the 2" strip onto the bottom of the long strip, making sure I had it centred then folded in the sides.

Finally I folded the long strip down to the to the top of the little flaps.  You can see this on the baby girl card.

I believe it's called a Dutch Door Fold although I may be wrong.

I cut both white matts from one of the remaining long white strips using a Spellbinders die.  Sentiments are from a Paula Pascal set of sentiment stamps.  I use this set so much that I recently bought a second set - just in case!

Bruce is taking me out for a pub lunch shortly and I'm recording the Arsenal v Tottenham match to watch when we get home.  Then it's Strictly from Blackpool on the television this evening and more football and some crafting tomorrow.  So it's the perfect weekend for me.  I hope you enjoy whatever you have planned.

You Passed!

Hello and Welcome.  I hope you are having a good day.

When I got back from Blackpool recently the first news I got from my hubby was that a friend had passed his driving test  first time ..... Well Done Mark!

So this is the card I made for him using my Cuttlebug for embossing and die cutting.

The silver embossed panel was already lying on my desk.  I used a sentiment banner which is my new set from Elizabeth crafts.   I stencilled the 'L' onto a scrap of white card and cut up the middle with fancy scissors.  I think it would have looked better cut at an angle but wanted to get the card finished quickly to deliver.

I cut the car and letters from Tim Holtz dies with scraps of card and decided to colour the holes in the letters with a silver pen to match the panel.

As I used lots of snippets I'm popping over to join in at Pixies Snippets Playground Weeks 307 & 308

I would also like to enter the following challenges  Lemon Shortbread Challenge #52   and
Cuttlebug Mania (a masculine project)

Cheers!

Good evening everyone.  I hope you've had a good day.

Just a quick post today to  show you what we did at our craft club last night.

Wendy showed us how to make these fun wine bottle waistcoats.

We each made two in different colours using glitter fun foam.  My other one was green and gold.   I've not come across the glitter fun foam before.

Not a very good photo but it was taken quickly when I got home and in bad light.

We all enjoyed crafting together.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hi All!  Well I'm back from my mini break.

We had a great time after a bad start.  We had a five hour wait for the coach at the South Mimms services on the M25.

We stayed at Tiffany's ..... no not the one in The Big Apple.  It was in Blackpool.

The illuminations didn't disappoint, good food and the odd tipple.  I had a great time with my friend Wendy.

I have to unpack and will be back tomorrow to find out what you've all been up to while I've been away.  Barbxx

Birds of a Feather!

Good Evening!

A quick post before I finish packing my case for the trip to Blackpool tomorrow.  Poor hubby will be looking after himself for a few days.

I'm going with a friend whose birthday is on Saturday so this is the card I've made for her.  Drinks will be on me on Saturday night.

I did the background with distress oxide inks and over stamped with a freebie feather stamp then lifted a little colour off some feathers.  It looked a bit dull so I added some white gell pen and distressed the edges with my tool.

The bird and branches are punched from scraps of the background and I used Spellbinders dies which I bought recently at a table top sale.  The candy is handmade.

Enjoy your weekend.  I'm certainly looking forward to mine.

Make a Wish

Good Morning!

I wonder how many of you in the UK took advantage of an extra hour in bed as the clocks changed.  Well I certainly enjoyed a lie in as it's been a very busy few weeks for me.

This is one of several very quick cards I made this week.  I'm going to Blackpool on Friday with a friend for four days to see the illuminations.  I've never been to Blackpool before and want to get my box of charity cards sent before I go.

Last week I bought a couple of 6 x 6 paper pads in the Works for £2 each.  The whole background is just a piece of one sheet.  I bought the little unicorn and a bunny stamp from Hobbycraft (Dovecraft) which I used for all the cards.

I stuck the paper onto some black card then diecut a round aperture and mounted onto my white card after cutting the black frame from the black card.

The unicorn was stamped onto a snippet of DCWV paper and fussy cut out.  I put him onto foam pads and popped him inside the aperture.  Finally I added some glitter pen to areas of the background and the unicorn then stamped the Paula Pascal twice onto the background.

I'm popping over to Pixies Snippets Playground - Weeks 305 & 306 with my card.

Unassembled!

Good Evening!

I thought you may be amused to see this card which was demonstrated by Wendy at our village club on Wednesday evening.

The photo isn't very good I'm afraid  cotton wool in a bag. Perhaps it could be called white on white!!! I don't know ....

Anyway they were pretty quick and fun to make and we all managed to make three during the evening.

I enjoyed my day at Loobi  Crafts where we made five Christmas cards.  I'll show those another time.

I'd like to join in the Rudolph Day - October Challenge.

Maureen holds her challenge every month from 25th till the end of the month, encouraging us to get Christmas cards done in time for the Big Day.

Thank You Phil!

Hello and thank you for dropping by.

I've had a busy week and am looking forward to a fun weekend.  Tomorrow I'm off to a workshop with a friend to make Christmas cards and on Saturday going to a workshop in our village hall with another friend.  The demonstrators are Julia Watts and Leonie.  I'm very excited!!!

You may remember I was taking a course of refresher driving lessons .
Well I've been getting out and about a bit but continued with lesson for a while as I still felt I lacked some confidence.

Last Tuesday I had my last - a two hour lesson with Phil my instructor.

It was very special as I drove from home up the M1 and  M6  to and through Rugby and back.  I can tell you I was buzzing when I got home.

This is the thank you card I made for Phil for giving me the confidence to get out there again.

The bird was made with a Marianne die set.  It is actually a Christmas robin set.  There are various dies to make two different robins plus some holly.   Anyway, I thought it could be any bird so made this one up with small scraps from my box.  The background paper is from a pad I bought at a table top sale I went to recently.

I hope you have a good weekend, whatever you have planned.

With Sympathy card

Hello and welcome

My card today was made a couple of weeks ago and is one for my charity box.

I used the flower from my recent club demo where I demonstrated the whitewash technique.  I wanted to try it on black card too so embossed and cut out a flower with black card.  I painted some ink from a Brilliance white pad onto the flower and when dry painted over areas with a purple distress ink.

The leaves were cut from a scrap of black card and the music paper is from a small piece I had left from a card I made at a recent workshop with Wendy Stenton.

This was one of the cards we made with Wendy.  I didn't actually get it finished and this is the photo I took when I got home.

We had heat embossed and coloured some flowers and leaves.  I cut them out  and stuck on in the corner just above the bow in the afternoon.  It was great fun to make.

As my sympathy card was made with snippets I would like to join in with the girls in the Playground at :

Song Bird

Hello and thank you for your visit.

The card today was made using my latest purchase, Song Bird by Sizzix.

I stuck scraps of paper, from a Craftworks Cards pad,  to scraps of white card.  They were diecut  and then stuck onto a piece of old book page.

I cut off the top leafy piece of the die.

The sentiment is an old and well loved Hobby Craft stamp.

After taking this photo I did a couple of scribble lines around the edge with a black fine liner as I thought it needed something else!

As I've only used scraps I'm going over to join in at Pixies Snippets Workshop Weeks 299 & 300

Wishing You Well

Hello Friends!

We're home after  a wonderful holiday in Tuscany.  It even exceeded my expectations and we enjoyed it so much the plan is to go to Umbria next year

Now I just have to do the washing and ironing ....

This is a card I made,  just before we went away,  for a cousin who had  come out of hospital.

The stamp was sent by a kind craft buddy.  After stamping the image I gave the card a light wash of blue then coloured the roses and flowers in with Sparkle pens.  Sadly the sparkle doesn't show up well in the photo.

The banner is from a set by Elizabeth Crafts which had just arrived together with the set of sentiments which fitted them.

I'm going to be very busy for the next few days but hope to have caught up with visiting you all over the next week.

Club Demo

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today.

Last week I did the demo at our village club.  I collected the key and put out the chairs and tables  before anyone arrived.

As I had about 20 minutes before anyone came I decided to take photos  so here is my table set up ready.

I was demonstrating the whitewash technique.

We didn't make a card.  I decided to just concentrate on the technique so had already cut the kraft card to size and pre stamped and embossed this Woodware stamp using my Misti then embossed with white embossing powder.

I thought it would be a good idea to also prepare a single blossom for the girls to have a practise before tackling the big flower,

I made two card up myself  just as ideas for making their work up into finished cards.  The leaves were roughly cut from the waste after cutting out the bloom and inked with distressed ink.

We had a good evening together and look forward to Wendy's demo in two weeks time.

Paper pieced snippets

Hello and thank you for your visit.

I'd like to say a BIG thank you for all the lovely and supportive messages I've had to my last post.

I've had a busy few weeks with several visitors staying with us and I did the demo at the club.  I'll show photos when I get them downloaded.

This is a paper pieced card which I made with snippets some time ago.

The stamp is by Woodware and I bought it as I thought it would be perfect for paper piecing which is something I really enjoy doing.

The panel at the side used the last piece of this pretty paper which I think was a magazine freebie.  The little butterfly was punched out from the edge, hidden by a flower petal.  I used a couple of Promarkers for a little shading.

Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting.

Back on the Road Again!

Hi All,.

Well I said I'd let you know what I'd been up to.  Life has been very busy and pretty exciting over the past  few weeks.

I've been to a couple of workshops,  Jacky and I did the craft club demo for Wendy when she went on holiday and I had friends staying for a week so we got out and about a lot.  Fortunately we had lovely weather.

Tomorrow we have my lovely SIL coming to stay and I'm also prepping for my demo at the village club next week.

I've continued with my refresher driving lessons and feeling miles more confident now.

I saw this on the forecourt a couple of weeks ago and hooray !!!!

Here I am in my new little white car.

I've not ventured too far by myself yet but last week I did drive to Loobi Crafts in Leighton Buzzard.  It's one of the places I wanted to be able to get to and after a Costa Coffee break I got home safely absolutely buzzing.

Unfortunately I've not done very much card making over the past couple of weeks and as Anne will be here tomorrow won't be back into full swing until next week.

So now it's off to do some housework and a bit of shopping.

I just thought I'd let you know I'm still around and will be back again very soon.

Happy Crafting Everyone!

Rudolph Day - August

Hello Blogland Friends,

Sorry to have been absent for so long but life just took over.  There's been lots going on but I'll tell you what I've been up to soon.

I'd just like to say how sad it's been watching the news from the USA.  My thoughts go out to all the people affected by Hurricane Howard.

I'm just popping in with a Z Fold Christmas card made with a Crafwork Cards paper pad, and a Sizzix die.

I'm popping in at the last minute to join the Rudolph Day Challenge

which Maureen holds  from 25th  to the end of the month each month throughout the year where we show our Christmas cards.

I have to apologise for not leaving regular comments over the past few weeks.  Things have been so hectic here but bit by bit I am catching up and will get round to visiting all my friends as soon as I possibly can.

Batch Making

Hello and Welcome

Last week I spent an afternoon using my Misti to batch make a set of cards using some new stash.

I bought the Spellbinders stepper die at a table top sale a few weeks ago and this was it's first time out.

The bird and branch were in a freebie set of stamps and dies with a recent magazine and the single flower was lying on my table, stamped and diecut from an older freebie set.

I recently went to Loobi Crafts for a workshop using Craftwork cards materials and the paper is scraps which were leftover from the class.  I still have lots of the diecut sentiments, candi and full sheets of the pretty papers to play with.

I stamped then diecut six birds and wings from scraps of white card.

Next I put one of the scraps into my Misti and put the diecuts into the holes in the scraps.

I placed the stamps in the right position to stamp the wings, heads and bodies of the birds then stamped in my chosen colours.  I removed the wings as they were finished and switched the birds over so that I could stamp the reverse parts.

I made three of the cards using various pieces of this set of papers and the other three birds I have put aside to use later.

I am taking my card over to join in  at Pixies Snippets Playground Weeks 293 & 294

Is it a Bee!

Good afternoon
My card today was a very quickly made a couple of weeks ago using a piece of gelli plate print.

I diecut the bee  from it a couple of years ago to make another card but kept the waste.

When I rubbed round the edges with oxide fosillized amber it looked a bit solid and flat so I squiggled lines with a marker and sprinked and heated clear embossing powder round the top right hand corner.

The bee is a Bigz die and the sentiment is letters cut out with a Tim Holtz set of letters.

Rudolph Day - July

Hello and thank you for your visit.

This is my card for the Rudolph Day Challenge - July
Maureen holds a challenge each month from 25th till the last day of the month where we show our Christmas cards.

I used a Tattered Lace die given to me as part of a birthday present last year.

Once the die was cut the card was very quick to make.

I added some glitter inside the bauble and round the edge of the blue matt.  A couple of punched snowflakes a few gems and a little colouring in spaces with a gold gel pen and I just needed a sentiment.

The photo of my card has a bluey tinge to it but I really did just use white and dark blue card!

From a Buddy!

Good Morning and Welcome

Recently I made a comment on a beautiful card on a Buddy's blog.  Here is the card.

After saying how I now  regretted giving that lovely background away I got a message from Karen to say she had another which she would send me.

Well the stamp arrived yesterday together with this beautiful card.

Thank you so much Karen for your kindness.

Here is a link to Karen's blog.

Thanks  to everyone who has wished me good luck with my driving.   Your encouragement is very much appreciated. I'm off for my third lesson in a couple of hours.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Waste!

Hello and thank you for your visit today.

Sorry to be behind with my visits yet again.  I seem to be having a very busy year. There have been some very sad things happening over the past few months then more recently it has been a bit more positive.

After losing my confidence with driving,  I've hardly driven at all in the past 10 years, I decided I really needed to do something about it!  So - I've just had my second refresher/lesson and feeling very determined and positive about it!  I'll keep you posted!

I recently bought the  Chrysanthemum dies by Sue Wilson and cut the flowers out in various sizes.

I often keep the waste to use as stencils but decided instead to make a couple of quick cards this time.

I cut the waste into a few pieces and sprayed with some old sprays bought years ago from Create  and Craft then sprayed with water.

Next I mounted onto offcuts of black card and added a few gems, card candi, thread and sentiments.  I ended up making four similar cards with my waste.  I'm showing two today.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

butterfly challenge #82

Evening all!

I've really had to think about this one as it's a bit outside my comfort zone because orange isn't a colour I use very often.

I used Fossilised Amber oxide distress ink randomly over my piece of card then after drying pounced like mad with ordinary Spiced Marmalade distress ink on a piece of bubble wrap over the top to get an orange peel coloured base!

I used an embossing folder on my piece of card then  rubbed Inka Gold over the middle section and added the piece of ribbon underneath.

The flower pot was laying on my desk  so I attached  that  with silicone glue and a punched out butterfly to decorate the bottom of my card and and  scraps of gold mirri and white linen card using SU punches for the two matching  butterflies at the top.

I added a few gems for decoration but the top left hand corner looked empty after I'd put the card together  so I stencilled the dots to match the bottom section and  add balance to my card.

This card really did just evolve as I made it but I was quite pleased with how it turned out in the end.   I would like to join in with Mrs A's  Butterfly Challenge blog #82

Sunflowers

Hello and Welcome

First I'd like to introduce my newest followers Sharon, Mia and Claire.  I hope you will visit them and enjoy their lovely creations.  I'm very sorry Sharon I'm unable to find you.  If you have a blog please leave a comment so I can link to you..

I have been playing with a wonderful  sunflower set of stamps and papers  that arrived the other day as a freebie with a magazine.

My Misti came in very useful for stamping onto the cut out seed packets and the large sunflower.

The background papers came with the set.   I coloured the flower with a few promarkers.  The piece of scruffy hessian had been lying on my desk for ever and the little flower was previously cut from yellow card.

For my second card I stamped and fussy cut the small flowers from the set and the swirls were die cut from an old envelope and snipped into pieces to fit.

Red Geranium

Hello and Welcome

My card today was made a long time ago but never shown and unfortunately did not photograph too well.

The image is an old, very detailed  Hero Arts stamp which only needed a little simple colouring with a couple of promarkers.  I used a matching coloured card for my embossed background and a Printworks stamp for the sentiment.

I used snippets of black and white card for the Spellbinders diecuts and sentiment tag.

Parchment Card & Box

Hello and thank you for your visit!

This is a card I was going to make for a friend's Special Birthday next week..  Well I got a phone call from her hubby during the week asking if I'd make a special card for him to give to her.  I won't have time to make another parchment card now so here's John's card for Lesley's birthday.

John is going to print his own insert for the card so I left the front free of a name or sentiment.

I decided to make a box to put the card in.

For the box I used two stencils in two different Distress inks in blue and a blush of pink, my old French script stamp and a couple of dies.  The flower is by Sue Wilson.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Filled with Flowers

Good Morning and Welcome!

At the weekend I got out some old pieces of gelli plate print which I'm trying to use up before making more.

I last used this print over a year ago for paper piecing here on  my Woodware sneakers.

I was able to make one other similar card similar to this with the rest of the print.

The sentiment is from a Woodware set and the swirls and leaves were scraps that I had  in a box which I cut up to fit.  I used Papermania dew drops for the centres of the flowers.

Happy Family!

Hello and Welcome.

This is a card I made last week using a set of stamps and dies which came recently as a freebie with a magazine.

I think this set will work well for many occasions and I did use it to make a card for my hubby for our Wedding Anniversary earlier this month.

For this card I used a piece of background paper from Papermania which has been tucked away for several years.  The background piece, punched snowflakes and the little people were all done with offcuts of white card.  I still have a bulging carrier bag full of white snippets hanging up in my cabin waiting to be used.  Unfortunately it's being added to almost by the day!  I think you all know what I mean!!!

I would like to enter my card into the following Challenges:-

Whitewash!

Hello and thank you for your visit.

Today's card was made for a friend's birthday last week and is my first attempt at the whitewash technique.

I used a Paper Artsy set and stamped the flower spray with versamark onto a piece of kraft card which was then embossed with white embossing powder.

For the whitewash technique I rubbed a white inkpad onto my craft sheet and watercoloured it onto the flowers.  Then using a pink inkpad in the same way painted a thin coat of colour over the white flowers.

I did the same with the butterfly on a small piece of kraft card, coloured the body with a promarker and fussy cut it.

I decided to make another card before cleaning my stamps.

The background stamp is from the same set and stamped with distress ink and the sentiments are from different companies.

I added clear gems to the centres of the flowers after colouring them brown with a peel off pen and the paper strips on the second card are the trimmings from the sheet of paper which I used for the square card.

I would like to enter my first card into Mr's A's challenge on her Butterfly Challenge Blog #80 (using the middle line of the Bingo lines - butterfly, blooms & bling).

Buzzing By

Thank you for buzzing by today.

I bought this Woodware set last week and decided to have a play with it today.  I made two watercoloured  cards and then as an afterthought  stamped onto a piece of a gelli plate print for this card

I used three Promarkers to add just a little colour and a white gel pen to brighten it up a bit.  The edge was tinted with a distress ink and I added glitter to the bee's wings and spotted some glitter randomly around the top right hand corner.

While the dinner was cooking I noticed, while doing some blog visiting, a  blog I've not seen before so decided this would fit the challenge quite well.

Fly Away!

Hello and thank you for dropping by.

My card today was made some time ago although it was never posted.

I recycled the front of a shop bought card for the background and used the now sadly retired Stampin' Up bird punch and a Marianne die for the cage.

I added the sentiment and a bow to finish the card.

I have used this idea several times using old card fronts with flowers for the background.  The punched and die cut elements were all snippets of scrap card.

I am joining in again with the challenge at
Pixies Snippets Playground Weeks 285 & 286.

My apologies for being absent for several challenges as I do like to join in with all the playmates.

A Quickie!

Hello and Welcome

Here's a very quick card I made as I've not had a lot of time for crafting over the past week or two.

I began by stencilling the background with Distress ink through sequin waste.

The Flower and leaves are from an Artemio set which I stamped with Archival ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I coloured with pencils and fussy cut the flower and leaves.  I added a little gold gel pen to the flower and scribbled a border round the card.

I would like to join in the challenge at
